Busy day of basketball at BCHS. Girls and boys are both playing in a doubleheader vs Beach. First game of the day was 7th grade girls. Our girls controlled most of the game. Beach made a little run in the 4th quarter but BC girls were able to hold on for the win. Final score in favor of the lady Dawgs 31-24. Great job girls.
In the 8th grade game Beach girls used it's strength in the first quarter and built a small lead. The second quarter saw bowman county fight its way back to take the lead heading into halftime. The third quarter our girls shot well from the outside to increase their lead to nine points. In the fourth quarter, Beach girls were able to have some success playing zone and closed the gap late in the game. Ultimately our girls were able to hold on to their lead winning the game by a score of 30-23. Great job girls. 7th grade boys up next.
Junior high boys basketball had a home game this evening. The bantams from Belfield made the trek down south. In the first game, seventh grade battled hard, but fell by a score of 55 to 9
In the 8th grade game, our boys had a great first half and kept the score close. The bantams were just too much in the second half though. Bowman county falls to Belfield by a score of 15-57
Keep working hard boys. Improvements will come. Tomorrow, Beach travels to town for a girls and boys doubleheader. Girls kick things off at 10:00 AM. The boys will start around noon. Come support our junior high bulldogs.
We have another student athlete moving on to the next level. What a day for this young man. Junior high girls basketball hosted Hettinger Scranton tonight. 7th grade kicked things off first. A defensive battle between both squads. The game was tight throughout. Ultimately the Nighthawks hit some timely shots at the end. Final score on favor of the nighthawks 17-13.
In the eighth grade game we saw another very tight contest. Both teams battled in a back and forth contest. Bowman County held the lead most of the fourth quarter. In the final seconds, Hettinger Scranton makes a buzzer beating layup. Heads up ladies. You played hard and will get another chance soon.
