JV TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS! Congrats ladies! #GODAWGS ❤️🐾🏀

What a day at BCHS. The southwest sub-region duals were held in solberg gym. Our Buccadawgs came in with the 2 seed and had high expectations to advance to state. Not only did this team qualify for the state B tournament, they won the sub region duals vs some fierce competition. In the championship dual match our Buccadawgs won by one point. Our fans were on the edge of their seat the whole match. This program has come a long way to be this competitive. Our coaching staff has done an outstanding job making this program what it is. Congrats to coach Boynton and staff for a job well done. Our communities are proud of you. Speaking of coach Boynton, he was named the SW sub-region coach of the year. This award was voted on by the coaches. Well deserved coach. Good luck at state Buccadawgs

Pictured is long time Bowman wrestling coach Russ Werth.
Coach Werth was recognized for his years given to the wrestling community in todays sub-region duals held at BCHS. He has been a pillar of our wrestling program for years, shaping athletes into champions both on and off the mat. Through every victory and challenge, Coach Werth has taught many invaluable lessons in hard work, perseverance, and character, leaving a lasting legacy that will continue to impact us for years to come. Thanks for the years coach. Thanks for your heart felt words to the teams and spectators too.

What a great day at Bowman County. Two more student athletes going on to compete at the next level. Congrats to these young ladies.
Landyn Gerbig - University of Mary
Adyson Gerbig - Bethel University
Both are moving on to compete in Track and Field. If you know these ladies, you know what great teammates they are, the work ethic they have, and just overall great student athletes they are. Good luck at the next level. We know you will do great.

The High School Girls' Basketball game scheduled for tomorrow, 2/7, vs. Wilton-Wing has been canceled. As the visiting team, Wilton elected not to travel with the potential weather moving in.

Bowman County fans. It has been brought to my attention that our very own Jon Jahner has been selected by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as the 2024 Boys' High School Cross Country Coach of the Year for the state of North Dakota.
The USTFCCCA High School coach of the year award program is proudly sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps.

Boys basketball hosted the eagles from south heart this evening. C and JV squads cruised to victory in their games. Varsity saw another game with the tale of two halves. Great production on offense in the first half followed by an up and down 2nd half. Still showed some improvement and battled hard to get the district win. Only a few games remain in the schedule. Up next is a trip to beach on Friday then parents night on Monday vs GUH.

Dear Parents,
Our school (grades 7-12) is taking part in the 2025 North Dakota Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) and the 2025 North Dakota Youth Tobacco Survey (YTS) sponsored by the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services and the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction. The YRBS survey will ask about nutrition, physical activity, injuries, tobacco, alcohol, other drug use, sexual behavior, and school climate. The content of the YTS survey includes tobacco questions related to prevalence (electronic vapor products, cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, cigars, and pipes); knowledge and attitudes; cessation; environmental tobacco smoke, media and advertising; minors’ access; and school curriculum.
Students in grades 7-12 will be asked to fill out a questionnaire that takes about 45 minutes to complete. Doing this survey will cause no risk to students. The survey has been designed to protect student privacy. No student or class will ever be mentioned by name in a report of the results. The results of the survey will help establish trends over time that can be utilized in school planning and curriculum development.
We would like all selected student to take part in the survey, but the survey is voluntary. No action will be taken against the school, you, or your child, if your child does not take part. Students can skip any question they do not wish to answer. In addition, students may stop participating in the survey at any point without penalty.
Our school will be administering the survey on the following dates: 2/17, 2/18 and 2/25 (depending on your grade). The surveys will be available in the 7-12 office for you to preview if you desire. If you decide you do not want your child to take part in the survey, we will have you complete an opt out form. The opt out form is available in the 7-12 office. I have also attached a copy of this form to this email if you would like to complete at home. I have also attached some other documents with information about the surveys.
