school board letter
7-12 Students, I hope this email finds you rested and ready to start school on Monday in our Distance Opportunity format! I am sure that you have lots of questions how this will work, we do too. I do know that your teachers have been working hard to adapt and prepare learning opportunities for you as we transition from “traditional” school to this online format. I have some information for you that will hopefully answer some of those questions about how the schedule will work. If you have other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me our your teachers. Monday Period 1 – starts at 8:21 Period 3 – starts at 10:07 Period 7 – starts at 1:07 Tuesday Period 2 – starts at 9:14 Period 4 – starts at 10:56 Periods 5/6 – starts at 12:18 Period 8 – starts at 1:56 Wednesday Period 1 – starts at 8:21 Period 3 – starts at 10:07 Period 7 – starts at 1:07 Thursday Period 2 – starts at 9:14 Period 4 – starts at 10:56 Periods 5/6 – starts at 12:18 Period 8 – starts at 1:56 Friday Junior High PRIDE – starts at 9:00 High School PRIDE – starts at 10:00 Students: Please make sure that you are in contact with your teachers about their expectations regarding during this time. Classes that rotate (HS – Band/Choir/PE/S&C; JH – Band/Choir, PE/Health/Choir), your teachers will be in contact with you on what to do in those situations. We will not schedule times for study halls. Students taking dual credit classes and ITV classes will need to be in contact with their teachers to understand what their expectations will be moving forward. As a school district we will have to continue to meet the standards set forth by the state in these unprecedented times. As students, your individual responsibility will no doubt increase. Please be in communication with your teachers with questions/concerns and please make sure that you are available during the class time times. You may be meeting live or may be asked to watch a prepared video. This schedule should allow you complete assigned work after your class is completed according to the schedule. We have scheduled PRIDE period on Fridays. PRIDE period is a graded class for credit so we need to provide time for meeting. This will be a very important time to for us to meet and work through issues/concerns. We also want to have some time just to visit with our students. Seniors, you are not required to attend PRIDE since it is part of your senior privileges. However, it would be great for you to check in so that you can share how things are going! Mrs. Fisher and I will be invited to each of those PRIDES so that we can check in and see how things are going. Here are a few things you need to have in place for online class... 1. A CHARGED device! 2. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Teams. Spend some time today getting familiar with the online or app versions. You might even want to download it on your phone. 3. A nice, quiet space to attend live classes. You need to not only be heard but be seen as well. Designate an area to be your “classroom.” At the same time, I realize this may not be possible in every home every day. There will be interruptions. We get it. 4. Some supplies...have your book (if your class has one), notebook, and a pencil (just like in class)! 5. Your full attention. You have more free time than ever to watch Netflix and listen to music and be on Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram, etc. So give us and your classmates the courtesy of DITCHING YOUR PHONE during live class time! 6. Your respect. This is a scary world for not just me but a lot of your teachers and classmates. We are opening up our homes to you each day. We will make mistakes. We will do stupid stuff. Please let it go. A real fear for many of us is being ridiculed for trying something new. 7. And finally, the mindset that this is SCHOOL 🏫 NOT just an extended vacation! I cannot begin to express how proud I am of our students, staff and community in our response to these circumstances that we now face. In the course of 1 week we have changed how we need to educate our students. There is no doubt in my mind that we will make this work and that we will all learn so much along the way! It is going to take all of us to do our part! What I have learned so far…. 1. Our staff is an incredible group of selfless individuals that make ONE INCREDIBLE TEAM! 2. Our communities are incredibly supportive, THANK YOU! 3. Our staff can adapt and continue moving forward like no other, THANK YOU! 4. Our students are prepared for this! 5. Bulldog PRIDE has never been evident in our staff, students and community: Personal Responsibility In Developing Excellence #BulldogNATION #BulldogPRIDE #BulldogGRIT

Bowman County 7-12 students, We hope you are safe and healthy and enjoying your extended spring break week! We really are hoping to see you back in school on Monday, but at this time, we are planning ahead in case this pandemic keeps us all home awhile longer. Here are some things you need you to do if this school closure situation continues: **PLEASE make it a habit to check your school email twice a day. **You will be getting emails from your teachers, Mrs. Fisher, and me with important information. **If you need something at the school (your device, textbook, etc), call the high school office at 523-3283. We will get your things and have them at the school office so you can pick them up between 9:00 AM and noon on Mondays and Tuesdays. No one will be allowed into the building past the main offices. **If you have other questions about schoolwork, scholarships, or anything else email your teachers, they want to hear from you. **PLEASE reply to this email and any other emails that your teachers have sent so we know you are receiving the information. Just email something like, “Yep, Mr. Senn, I got your email.” If your teachers or I don’t get a return email, we will begin contacting parents. **Remind your friends to check their email too.  This situation is something new for all of us. If this school closure continues, please understand that we are all required to continue with school education. There are expectations that all teachers and students must meet. School will continue, just differently than we are used to! Stay safe and healthy,
